Account identifiers and email from our identity provider; school, class, role, and roster information; notebooks, images, assignments, feedback, accessibility preferences, and collaboration activity; and limited security and diagnostic logs.

We use information to authenticate users, save and synchronize work, provide classroom functions, prevent abuse, restore data, support users, and comply with school instructions and law. We do not use student work to train general-purpose artificial-intelligence models.

School administrators provision staff roles, can suspend accounts, export or delete a student's school records, set retention periods, review audit events, and terminate their tenant. Parents and eligible students should normally submit access, correction, or deletion requests through the school; direct requests are routed to the authorizing school when required.

For school use involving children under 13, the school must authorize collection for an educational purpose or arrange verifiable parental consent as applicable. A child cannot self-select a teacher or district-administrator role. Casebound acts as a school official/service provider only under a written agreement and school control; it does not claim independent authority over education records.

School data is retained for the contract period and the district-configured deletion window, then deleted from active systems and allowed to age out of backups under the documented backup schedule. We disclose data only to vetted subprocessors needed to operate Casebound, at a school's direction, or where legally required. We use encryption in transit, access controls, tenant scoping, audit logging, backups, and incident response procedures.
